A west coast person asks for some west coast consideration
« on: October 17, 2000, 10:34:00 AM »
Can the CM crew make a few time slots for each event type with consideration to us here on the west coast?  Maybe, some more events that start at 11pm EST (8pm Pacific)?  Or at least early evening.late afternoon?

And then you condemn Europeans to hell

I understand you ,leonid...but any time you choose will be good for some and bad for others

I find the hour of the Afrika Korps scenario quite good. Not for me (for me it would be better at 8PM EST), but for most european and american players...

Maybe playing each thing twice would work...but then you'd have to design scenarios with less planes...

As I said, IMO there is no easy solution

I want all the scenarios set to Hawaii standard time so I don't have to get up at 7am on Saturdays

Not asking that all the times be changed, just that we have a time slot, or two.

Minor idea from a meager peon who never flys scenarios:

Run the darn thing twice in one day; Once for Europe, EST, whatever and again for PST and later guys. Combine the two scores to find the victor of each frame. If you do great, but the second run screws up, you lose! Handy way for people to actually influence an event. Plus you get more people in.

Wont' be fair...If our country does it great, I dont see why because others do it bad I have to lose....

I think that leonid's asking for slots is more fair...but it has its drawbacks too...to divide the scenario in two time slots would mean less people in each of them than in just one time slot. For example, Afrika Korps would be unplayable with only half the people we have there now, and to schedule it for two slots will have that effect...

For minor scenarios then it is great...but for big scenarios...not

not necessarily RAM.  It's not as if you have to choose between time zones.

We'd be having probs upping in sufficient numbers for it to be fun.

And would have to have addtional scenario staff.

I'd opt for a compromise. Yesterday we played at 02:30 my time; if I can make that ascrifice, can the yanks not make a similar one?  .

Leonid,

(all times Pacific)

Snapshots - Sunday, 1pm
TOD - Saturday, noon & Thursday, 7pm
Med League - Saturday, noon; Tuesday, 6:30pm
Check 6 - Saturday 5pm-11pm
Afrika Corps, Sunday noon to 3pm

In other words... west coasters have to get up at 11am at the earliest to participate on the weekends... and can participate in the weekday events easily when we get home from work.

Now, if you add 7-8 hours to these times for the Euros, or subtract about the same for the Aussies, I'd say we west coasters have it pretty good.
