If I see any La-5 its because
A. The Eny is too high
B. The pilot has at least some skill or desire to gain some.
C. Your in midwar.

Most La-5s arent that bad with the HO compared to the La-7

I would like to, but due to financial constraints and medical reasons, I have to stick to flying cartoon planes.. like the La or the P47, Fm-2, A6m-2 or Spit 16.
I know it hurts but they are all cartoon planes only...

Redman there is no shame in B&Z, just because it is not to your taste, doesn't mean its not a valid tactic.

In fact people tend to complain about a lot of valid tacics in AH.

Come high in a p51 to a fight and your a cherry picker.
Bring a wingman and your a horde.

Both very solid tactics that are proven to increase your success rate.

BTW I doesn't take any more skill to fly a A6m well than it does a La5.
Its just a whole lot slower  and can't exit out of a fight.

It takes skill to utilize any aircraft to its full capability. The ability of a pilot to move from one type of aircraft to another, from one style of combat to another and do it seamlessly; that's a good measure of overall skill.

I'll challenge your FM-2 or A6M to a cage match. What's a cage match? Two guys take off from a large field in opposite directions. You fly off the end of the runway and reverse. You cannot fly outside the boundaries of the field. No BnZ here.... Still, I'll take an La-5FN and beat you like a toy drum, and never exceed 200 mph in the process.

Although not as fast as the La-7, the La-5FN is one of the best E-fighters in the game. Great climb, great acceleration and very high rate of turn make it especially lethal. You can stall-fight F4Us, beating their small turn radius with superior turn rate and vertical performance. I don't fly it much in the MA, except in base defense. I prefer more challenging fighters. However, as a defensive fighter for beating off hordes, it's top tier. It is one of my favorite dueling rides.

A skilled pilot flying the La-5FN is extremely formidable.

VERY!!!!  You know when you are in for a good scrap when the La is not screaming around at full throttle the whole time.
