AAR for Memphis Belle 6/23...

Aircraft:

12 109s T/O from A1: 8 G-6s and 4 G-2s

20 B17s T/O from A51 (Nifty was the Belle)

AAR Allied:

2 B17s fell out of the formation due to mechanical problems (disco)

11 were shot down

7 landed

AAR LW:

11 were shot down, 1 lost due to mechanical problems

Results:
Allied

30 Ground structures destroyed in Raid = 60 points

11 fighters shot down = 110 points

170 total

Axis

13 bombers downed = 220 points

Conclusion:

Convincing Axis victory.

Although the raid pounded its target into oblivion, they took heavy losses through not having an escort.

The Memphis Belle (Nifty) survived!

<S!> all!  My gunner BlkMgk got the Belle through it unscathed, all I did was get the thing off the ground, over the target and back on the ground!    

Just went through the film and got a few good screenshots out of it, but don't have time to crop and convert to jpg tonight.  Hopefully I'll have them ready tomorrow night (or Tuesday if class runs long tomorrow.)
