i think it's crap personally, but then, i can't help but chuckle a little when i see the venom that riles from the depths when such things occur.
it's like clockwork.
and people fall for it every time.
(we all go there in our own varying degrees of course.)
art is part promotion and i suppose that too is an art.
here's how i see it. it's a rock album with some titties on it in the 70's. some uproar. a senate hearing, world moves on.
art is subjective.
while it amazes me that there are people who might actually buy into it, it amazes me more how many do so by "not buying into it" with such great passion. not that i don't understand the desire to crush it, i do...but i have grown to allow it. the lines that it crosses say more about her world than mine. i just don't relate. and i don't wish to. and i really don't think that many people do. it's a very small audience without the uproar.
to oppose it violently only serves to validate it in a way, i think. let time crush her.
only the least number of moral compasses are aligned this way really . i'm pretty sure of this.
so...
our children are safe. we needn't fear its reach. but we might pray it doesn't come again to waste the power of our brains.
my 2.
