I have been online and the few dealers that supply them do not, for the most part, list the prices.

Has anyone had any experience with different brands?

Looking to install one in a bathroom, viewable when soaking in the tub.

Nope...this one goes back to the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam.    They had one and now I want one.

The suite was in London btw.  We were only in Paris for the meeting and flew back the same day.

I don't fly AH these days so hat isn't the reason.

Last night we were looking for a bathroom sized flat panel. Went home to re-measure and it would have been too wide. Never knew there were water resistant units.

They make one Curval. I looked into it considering it for the hot tub area. They're roughly $3200 for a 32" which was about $2000 more than I am willing to pay.

Just how steamy do you plan on making that place...>  They seem to carry quite a premium for what they are.  If its just in a bathroom you might want to consider going with a regular LCD and accepting that it might not last more than a few years.  That being said, is that bad thing?  Upgrading a LCD after 3-5 years isn't necessarily a bad thing and you could buy at least two regular ones for the prices I have been seeing for exterior rated displays.  You might also consider a regular one with an extended warranty as this is one of the scenarios that would warrant the expense.

If you were going to leave it outside or use it on a boat you should definitely spring the cash.

I'm planning on an interior installation and the room's got a lot of volume so it rarely gets steamed up. The stereo we have in there's been good the last five years or so. But the stereo only cost a couple hundred.

I have no plans to leave it outside...just in the bathroom.

Warrenties are a waste of time talking about down here...99% of 'em are void as soon as the LCD leaves US soil.

Find a local boat repair place and ask them to build you a polycarbonate box for your desired TV.  Polycarbonate is a very tough clear plastic that is used in boat windows and thousands of other things including bullet proof windows.  They should be able to build you a box out of one 4’ x 8’ sheet.  It’ll cost much less and you could beat on your TV with a hammer all day if you wanted.  Bermuda might even have a plastic fabrication specialty shop.

I'm imbedding it in the wall basically sitting on a shelf inside a cupboard which opens into the bedroom (tough to explain, but maybe I'll post a pic later) so I could leave the backside open, allowing for cooling and access to wire connections etc.
