I have news for you... BOTH parties are made up largely of globalist-socialist types.  It is all about power and keeping that power as long as possible I no longer have a tie to either party... HOWEVER  I have found a FEW honorable individuals here and there.  Senator Jim DeMint stands out.  Unfortunately I have no-one to vote for for top spot in November... But then again I only liked my choices in 84 and 96 in my adult life anyway - just this year i REFUSE to vote FOR someone because i dislike someone else more - never, ever again.
Vote R.E. Lee '24

From an outsiders point of view it all starts when the guys in office start their careers in politics and it gets worse the higher up they get. The key word is fundraising and how well bought they _all_ are. From watching cnn atleast it looks like about half the the stories about elections are about how much each candidate has gotten in funds, and very litte is about politics at all. I have always wondered why no americans react at all to that kind of outright corruption. Is it just so much out in the open that you just cant see the forrest for all the trees?

Dont shoot me, its just my take on american politics in general.

I'd say you have a handle on it.

Federally,

Our representatives tend to go to the capital and forget about home until re-election time.

Thomas Jefferson went home when he wasn't a government official.  In Oregon, Hatfield and Packwood, our most powerful Senators, now retired, didn't come back to Oregon when the retired from the enate, they stayed in DC.

Tells me something about how well we were represented.

Once Americans start to realise that the congress needs to be replaced at least as often as the executive branch status quo will prevail.

Probably applys for the vast majority of the states as well.

If people would just take the time to notice............there is no such thing as a Dem or Rep anymore.
They are just banners.....political eBay. Sold to the highest bidder.
Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.
