P-51D skin
« on: April 22, 2008, 01:20:06 PM »
I would love to see Serial# 44-74976 in the game, have not been able to find much historical info on it, but I like the look.

I sure someone will chime in but i think the blue is supposed to be O.D. It looked blue in photos because of color deterioration. Couldn't tell you why the owner went with blue instead of O.D.

Notice the aircraft history:

Delivered to Indonesian airforce in the 50s, flying under the same S/N as she was built. Very likely these are non-historical markings

There were no blue Mustangs. Just owners who never heard of the term, "historical research".

Oh well  :( It is a nice looking Mustang though. I guess if you spend close to $1.5 million on a plane, you can have it look like what ever you want......

Thanks for the input though

Non historical.  Besides the incorrect blue, the squadron codes are the owners initials and the name is his own on the nose.

This would be a right on the money, historically correct and researched, currently flying P51D

That P-51, or one with similiar markings was involved in a fatal crash last summer.
