Losing a flap

Ok someone explain this to me..

I'm not sure if this occurs in every plane but I noticed it today in the P-47 and it doesnt seem to make sense.. I lost my right flap, but the plane rolled left when that flap was gone.. It was acting like the wing without a flap had more lift than the wing with the full flap.. Why does this happen? I would seem my left wing with the full flap should have had more lift than the wing without and the plane should have rolled right..

Thoughts?

Doesn't happen graphically, but, in game, if you get a flap 'shot off' its actually modeled as being jammed. Even though graphically its modeled as being shot off.

Well it would seem something would need to change then.. If that's really what's happening, graphically the flap should stay there and show it jammed down because when you get flap damage in a Jug the entire flap itself is just gone..

I think they're doing that on new plane versions. Happens with other control surfaces too, I think. When you lose an aileron, its still there, its just limp.

Well the Jug has been redone already.. And when you lose an aileron, it's also disappears which makes sense.. This flap thing still doesnt make any..

No, the REALLY recent ones... La's, P39's, and B25's. Havent flown La's and 39's, I know the B25 models it like that.

I just checked, it looks like we don't lose any weight from missing parts.

Weigh a plane, shoot off some parts, bring it back and weigh it again?

I guess I'll have to try blowing them off with cannon splash damage too, just in case.
