We took off from Cagliari (A1) with orders to help over Biserta and souk el arbi AND cover the W of mediterranean sea.
I sent 2 planes to patrol the SW sectors of Sardinia, and with the other 4 we point to biserta.
While enroute, we lost one plane for engine failure (pilot bailed).
Halfway from target, i receive clearance to divert to buna, to CAP the P38 base.
Reached the target, we found 1 low P38 and forced him to hide in the ack.
After a while another P38 come from alt, triyng to bounce Zio, he manage to evade and drain all the energy of the bandit, when i join the fight, the allied pilot run for the cover of ack.
Then we receive the distress cal from Alghero (A33), under attack of US medium bombers (i think they sneack from E of Sardinia).
We join with the 2 scouts and land to A1 for refuel, one plane was lost on landing, another did'nt take off for engine problems (disco on rwy).
After take off we point to Alghero, obviously the enemy bombers were already gone, no goon show up, we tryed to follow them to Buna, but the Buna attackers shoot them down, so we go back to Cagliari and land.
results:
1 plane lost in sea, pilot bailed.
1 crash landing, pilot KIA.
1 mechanical problem, sortie aborted.
3 pilots and planes RTB and OK.
