Unlike the C-47 development of the DC-3, military versions of the Li-2 also had bomb racks and a dorsal turret (see photograph).

The Li-2 also had less powerful engines to the US version, that and the drag from the turret would make it slower. Do you really think any fighter attacking a transport is going to get put off by a single rifle calibre gun anyway?

I'd use it. I mean, some of us fly the Stuka. :cool:

How about the L2D?  I believe the Japanese version had guns and engines that were about the same power as the C-47, maybe even a tad higher.

Looks like the Li2 would have similar performance to the Ju52. In which case we should get the Ju52.
