IT'S OK THOUGH, AS now you're here, and can have your very own dogfights :aok

besides, when i watch that show, i see lots of holes in some of the stories they tell, especially on the future dogfights :D

I saw a priview for the new show called "Showdown: Air Combat"  last week, and it looks good.

http://www.acc.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123090496

"Showdown: Air Combat "uses restored aircraft to fly some of the most famous air combat battles in history," said Brian J. Kelly, vice president of production for the Military Channel, "not just what happened but how it happened and what it felt like to be there." "

"The Showdown series will showcase the P-38, P-47, P-51, the only flying Japanese Zero in the world with original parts and the ultra-modern F-22, said Adam J. Friedman, the director and CEO of Traveling Light Media.
"We will look at aircraft weapons, communications, and flaws. Then we will go in the air with the actual planes and re-enact the dogfight," he said. "

Dogfights could have been killer had they A) not recreated nonexistent fights, and B) done some Eastern front stuff.  I think they could have covered a lot more Luftwaffe engagements, without having to worry about glorifying the LW at the expense of the Allied servicemen. That (the war raging between the Soviets and the Axis) would have been completely new to a lot of the viewing demographic, and I think might have gone over a little better than "Next on Dogfights- The F35 takes on some planes whose pilots are currently in elementary school".

I saw two editions today on the History Channel.

Some P51 & Jugs vs 190 & 109's.

They also did a special on the Me-163.  Makes me wanna take one up now!

I'd much rather see THAT than the history of corn.

They spent too much time glorifying the americans. Should have told more stories from the perspective of the other countries involved in what was a "world" war. Also, should have avoided repeating things over and over again. Hate listening to people tell stories and repeat themselves.

I agree.  I didn't like the way that it seemed every episode was focused on Israeli/American fights.  But i guess that what gets viewers... if it was about Rudolph von Eschwege flying and fighting in Macedonia then i guess many people would not tune in.  Shame.

I liked it at times but others it was just blah. I did like one where some P-51 driver scored a few hits on a 262 and then bagged some 109's before his squadron showed up.
