New version coming soon
« on: April 04, 2001, 04:56:00 AM »
Ok, I think we will see new version during this month! Why?

Because I think landing craft promised for 1.05 has been ready for sometime, it just has not been released yet to public use. Since "Hostile Shores" scenario will have some sort of landing to Norway, why not release new version containing a few planes and a landing craft? HTC said week ago that few new planes are already in good shape.

It may not be released for the first frame but maybe to some later. HTC has "plenty" of time to get new version ready for later frames, almost a month!

For a variety of reasons, the last few weeks have been among our slowest ever in terms of development and we're behind schedule.

I don't think we will see 1.07 for at least a month.  The reason of course is that Hitech is a terrible speller(everybody knows that) and Pyro is "proof" reading about a million lines of code looking for "typos".

Sorry Hitech..couldn't resist

I don't think it would be a good idea to launch a new version in the middle of a scenario.  There are inevitably a few bugs to be worked out in any new versio considering the amazing pace that HTC develops at.

After Hostile Shores I say.

Jochen, HTC KNEW that the invaders would be repelled by the LW, and not have a chance to use their landing craft  .

So they took a beer and pizza break

I don't know how well an amphibious assault would fit in a scenario.  I guess you could set it up specifically for gameplay, but I don't believe Normandy's landing craft faced all that much air opposition.

I do have a tendancy to think we'll see the new version sometime before May, but just before it.  It does, however, sound like we may have seen the last 1.06 patch.

DjV, don't think Normandy, think Dieppe!

One huge furball/amphibious assault.  SpitVs trying to provide air cover against 109s and 190s.  Cannon armed Hurricanes trying to knock out gun emplacements that are attacking the supporting fleet.  Ju88s and Do-217s attacking the fleet.  Landing craft everywhere.  Bostons laying smoke on the beaches.  B17s hitting a nearby airfield with SpitIXs escorting.  Tiffies.  Mustang Is.

Oh my!
