Bacca Bomb
« on: June 05, 2008, 05:21:50 PM »
The Japaneese during WWII used a weapon called a Bacca Bomb on the USS Laffey carrier group. The Bacca bomb was the equivelant of a rocket propelled flying torpedo. It was a missile with wings. Loadout was 2,100 pds of explosive strapped to a rocket with wings. The kamakzi one seater was a one way ticket.

It's "Baka". And no, we won't be getting them. We don't have a Betty to haul them with, and besides, they'd never survive the trip to the target. In any event, since there's no real penalty for death, Kamakazi behavior should be strongly discouraged, not enabled with the "Baka". Oh, and the Japanese called it "Oka". "Oka" is "Cherry Blossom", where as "Baka" is "Idiot", a disparaging term used bu Allied sailors.
