When I built my new machine there was, unknown to me at the time, an issue with video corruption with my motherboard. I tried watching a movie at Netflix and could only get 5 minutes into it if even that. I called Netflix tech support and they told me to hook my monitor up with a VGA cable. Idiots. Well, I did because I was willing to try anything at the time. The VGA cable easily supported my 1680x1050 resolution. In fact, I couldn't tell a difference except that video scaling wasn't supported through my video card set-up anyomore.
NVidia/EVGA have since released a BIOS update that corrected the video corruption issue with my mobo and now I'm a happy camper watching movies at Netflix with my DVI connection.
