Two approaches to making a custom car…

Both have their own talents, but to make that coupe from a four-door… Wow!

that first one is amazing, they took a ugly car and with allot of hard work made it even uglier.

First one should be called Bugs Bunny. :lol Anyway, even if it does require skills, I'm not impressed by swamping an existing car in "foam" and shaving it off for a custom shape. As far as the number 2 car, metal work is surely not easy, but you kick in a tree and there's 20 of those chop/cut/rebuild falling.

What knocks me out is those guys, that start from a drawing on a napkin and build the whole dam thing from ground. BTW, the front grill is made of glass  :eek: in house.

If only we lived twice as long.. we could have a dozen years at least, doing nothing but pet projects like that.

moot.. that is why you teach the kids.   If we lived twice as long.. most people would use the time to build wealth and to make sure that everyone else needed to work till they were worn out.

That just isn't going to work in Europe if you want a road legal car. Thanks to the EU directives a certain amount of the original body must exist. Otherwise it's a new car build that needs to meet a whole bunch of EU directives and pass a bunch of checks. Lot's of paperwork and cash involved. This pretty much keeps all the small timers out of the way of the big automotive corporations.

The radial engine bike is quite interesting. Again, there is some talent there.

As for having two lifetimes for pet projects… I don’t know if even then I would tackle a project like any of these. I would think I could put that extra time to better use! Perhaps I could spend it putting thousands upon thousands of post on an internet bulletin board… Hmmm.
