Now that I've drawn you in with a somewhat negative tone...I really like the S.E. that we have here in AH, however, the IMMERSION factor REALLY sucks due to not having the proper terrains to apply this things such as the ETO and the Pacific.

My guess is once we get some more terrains up (like those done by Verm and 10bears), the immersion factor combined with attendance will drastically increase.

too few textures possible (only 5 base textures)

really limits terrains, we need more like 10 base textures, but this would shift the base requirement of aces high to a 16 meg video card most likely unles they made a "high res" and "low res" texture pack

Actually Zig, 10Bears cheated in a way with Luzon. He used detailed textures and kept the number of objects down, this results in a higher FR. I get 19-24 putting around Sfterr, Med, or Beta terrains depending on the A/C. In Luzon I never get under 15, and usually run 32 FPS. Around cities is where my FR really dumps, as long as I keep away from a city I'm fine. 1.05 does concern me in one respect; polygon counts. 10Bears proved you can make a great terrain by using a limited number of objects with hi-rez textures. HTC could actually get another 5-7 FPS out of our terrains by using better textures.

Add to that the 10-12 FPS you can recover by moving the clipboard out of sight and you've got a winner. But that's another thread...
