Rest in Peace Jack Lucas <Salute>
« on: June 06, 2008, 05:48:38 AM »
Jack Lucas died this week at the age of 80. From what I understand, he is the youngest Marine to get the Medal of Honor for jumping on 2 Japanese grenades which caused permant scarring to his arm and permant hearing damage. He joined the Marines at the young age of 14, and shipped off to Iwo Jima at the age of 17. Ended up getting caught but was still sent out because of his enthusiam. He has survived death 3 times, once at the hands of the Japanese, the other at the hand of his 2nd wife who tried to kill him over money, and another in the Army Paratroopers.

:salute :salute :salute To Jack Lucas and my prayers go with his family.  :salute

His book Indestructable is a great read, tells his whole life story and is one of the best books I've ever read.

Goto Google and type in "French military victories", then hit "I'm feeling lucky".
Here lie these men on this sun scoured atoll,
The wind for their watcher, the wave for their shroud,
Where palm and pandanus shall whisper forever,
A requiem fitting for heroes
