if you did I would personally cheer each time a US city was nuked. which would be one at a time over a period of years.

I do believe that those millions of "non-combatants" do have it w/in their power to quell the radicals and join the majority of the world in welcoming peace, however they choose not to do this because they hate the west, or more specifically any non-muslim infidel who refuses to convert willingly or  as in the past at the end of a sword. Case in point, did you see all those millions in gleeful jubilee celebrating in the streets around the muslim world when the Twin Towers fell? Innocent...doesn't seem so.

Hey I just go by what the media said....cuz they always get the story right and tell the truth......don't they? At any rate I would say more accurately (w/out an actual head count...shouldn't say that when talking bout islamonazis...) that there were more celebrating the murdered American lives than there are actual combatant terrorists. In other words I believe that the "good non-radical" muslims far outnumber the radical islamists and if they so chose could be rid of them and their destructive ideology. Fair?

Rogue - with respect, I think you're being naive there. The silent majority are simply trying to survive. Right now, they have three choices:

1. Rise up in armed struggle against the crazies - but that would just perpetuate the violence.
2. Side with the government, or act as an informant for coalition forces - but God help them and their families if they are discovered.
3. Keep their heads down and try as best they can to get on with their lives.

What would you do  - risk yourself and your family for little gain or just go with the flow and try to keep out of trouble? I've no doubt some of you on these boards would be in the 'have a go' camp, but I believe the vast majority of Americans - and Europeans - in a similar situation would simply try to keep out of the troubles.

Look at Northern Ireland - you could easily argue the populace there had it within their power to end the violence, but it took them 30 years to get there.

Must pour Billions of dollars into the fight! Yes must win the war! Just like we've been doing with the war on poverty, world hunger, drugs, global warming etc....

My view is pretty simple, i support our troops, i supported the attack on the taliban and terrorists. The problem is your fighting a splinter religious fanatical group that for some reason has the support of the very religion they splintered from. Until the Muslim nation and religion condemns and takes part in actively hunting out and either capturing or killing these individuals the war will never be over.
