Skuzzy PLEASE search for user posts
« on: June 06, 2008, 11:18:58 PM »
I am looking for any post by a certain user, hasn't posted in a loooooong time, I can find the user and PM them but I can't do a wildcard search for posts by that user.

PLEASE allow that feature back, for example right now if you want to search my old / other user "JB73" without knowing a word typed in a post ou can not find anything. if you choose "*" like in the default user field it says "Did you forget to put something to search for?"

if there is a work around please let me know. I am looking for the last post from a guy I know "TrueKill" and even searching simple 4 letter words like "that" "this" and stuff no results, though in the PM section I cna search his name and PM him. All I want is when he last posted.

please help out, I don't know what else to try.

try searching for "A" posted by Larry. The, is, are, and etc don't give any results, but a does.  It gives you all of 11 returns, but you can then click his user name, and see the other 212 pages of posts by using the "last posts of this user" button. PITA, but it kind of works.

That works on anybody, actually. A is a valid search criteria. Lots of other words are not.

How about these?

It's retarded, needlessly complex, and silly, but it works. :)

"a" works?

every time I tried something less than 4 letters resulted in the infamous "Did you forget to put something to search for?"
I guess I never tried "a"

anyway thanks I got what I was looking for, PM'd a Bs message, saved to outbox, clicked outbox, clicked name, searched for last posts by user XXX, then came across what I was looking for.

clunky, and for someone unfamiliar with a forum downright unusable.

The search feature is the only thing I am not crzay about with this board.

I am still working on fixing it after the crash, so right now it is still messed up a bit.

There is no way to modify how it works right now.
