Would one of those bent neck straw type squeeze bottle's help with the drinking problem? Just put the tube in your mouth and squeeze? Just a thought. The not being able to eat thing flat suxs though. :(
Hopefully you'll just have a short bout with it and be fine in a few.

The squeeze bottle helps, especially with the bent straw.  The fluid still falls out of your mouth, but at least it's easier to get it in there, hehe.  A bent straw on its own didn't work for me, as you can't seal your lips around it to suck.

Good luck man! Hope it settles down fast.

One thing to keep in mind. Depending on where you live and how much you're outdoors, make sure your docs have at least thought about Lyme Disease. That can cause a neuropathy that is 100% identical to Bell's, with the big difference being that you can treat the bug and make the palsy go away. I remember reading that during one outbreak in Conneticut some awful percentage (don't quote me...?40%? 25%? anyway, a big portion) of people with Bells actually had Lyme Disease.

The majority of people with documented Lyme Disease have NO history of tick bite or of the classic rash. The ticks that spread Lyme, by the way, are not the ones we see. The actual tick involved is between the size of a pinpoint and a pin head -- so most people never know they got the bite.

Best of luck BaldEagle.  I hope you recover as well as you did last time.
