Film viewer problems
« on: June 09, 2008, 02:43:24 AM »
Hey guys, ive been away for alittle over a year and the film viewer is just not the same these days. The problem i am  having is whenever i watch a recorded film in the viewer it is very glitchy. Almost like my plane is having a seizure. Has anyone else had this problem? Ive tried reducing the quality of the in game graphics and disabled plane skins, but it did not help one bit. Im not new to making movies, but i cant make anything worth watching anymore because of this problem. Please help!  :pray

If you could take a fraps movie of some film playback, that'd be helpful in describing what is going on.

I noticed some jitters in mine as well no matter the resolution.  When I make movies I slow the speed down, which fixes the jitters, then speed it back up in Vegas, that also makes your movies much smoother.

Here is a quick shot of the problem i am having. I dont know if it is because of a problem on the recording end or on the film viewer playback. I can post the .ahf film as well if that would help.

That looks like a playback problem to me.  Try slowing the speed down to say, 50%, if it runs smooth then it's definitely a playback problem.  Mine doesn't do it that bad but it does do it a little bit when running at full speed.  What are your computer specs?  Are you running Vista or XP?

My system probably could be alot better than it is. I think my problem is the radeon x300/550 series display adapter thats in my old computer. I was doing some looking around today for a good upgrade.
Slowing down the playback did help and it actually made it easier to get the shots i wanted too. Now I just need to fine tune what speed to run that way the planes dont sound like they are on helium in the movie. Thanks for your help.

I made this one today by slowing the playback down alittle...

You may have to take two captures of film.  One to get the video playback (say at 1/2 speed) and one (at full speed) to capture the audio.
