Not to be a downer but if you look at his cheeks in that photo above you can see they are flushed and pink. That is a sign of poor circulation. Not blushing as some of you may assume. My brother had a 98% blockage of one of his arteries and displayed the same signs! We were fortunate in when his heart attack hit we were only 2 blocks from the hospital.

These symptoms don't just appear in one day, they are usually present day to day but most people don't know how to recognize them.

I didn't agree with Tim on some things but i liked to listen to his perspective. May he now do commentary for the angels above. :salute

What Johnny Carson was to late night comedy, Tim Russert was to Sunday morning talk shows. Many will try to imitate him, but there will never be another one. Unbelievable.

 I rank most journalists slightly above the filth they cover but Tim Russert was a guy that showed how a TV journalist act. Unbiased and going for the truth.

 I would rank Tim Russert slightly above Walter Cronkite. But just slightly as they are both great newsmen. Cronkite stood out among a lot of good professional newsmen in an era when reporting the news as you saw it not as you wanted it to be was the norm. Now almost all journalists want sensationalize the news. So simply by not being one of the herd I put Russert a little higher.

Tim Russert was always the consumate journalist. He was tough and even handed. If he had any personal agenda (other than the Buffalo Bills) he never let it show on air. He will be missed.

Very sad to see him die, he was one of the best political reporters on TV, he just seemed like a reall nice down to Earth kind of guy.

I wonder who they'll get to host "Meet the Press" now.

Just watched a large portion of his memorial show on the Today show and one of his colleagues Dr. Nancy Sniderman (sp?) mentioned that one thing she will miss is him asking "Is dark beer ok for me?" She said her response was always.."In moderation Tim, in moderation." The man was well liked by those that worked with him and those that he interviewed.

he was a regular guy who made it all the way to the top in an industry that usually hires only pretty boys and girls...a style over substance philosophy that he busted through.  Buffalo did not lose a voice.......Buffalo lost ITS voice.

It is laughable for you guys to say he was anything but a left wing democrat hack.   Granted..  he hid it well about half the time but it was obvious where his sympathies were.

I really have no respect for any of the talking heads that I have seen.
