Ok so I'm probably misusing the term, but I think this would be really cool. Obviously real pilots had differing levels of resistance to G forces and pressure etc. Currently In game all pilots are in a similar state of physical performance. I got this idea off of a post in another area of the forum that pointed out for a totally different issue that currently all pilot performance is identical as far as physical characteristics go.

What if Hi tech could enter our current state of health in the equation to give our personal pilots more realistic reactions to physics. Blackouts, redouts etc.

Info such as height, bodyweight, blood pressure, cholesterol, VO Max, etc. to make your individual pilot react more realistically to your inputs.

Now obviously this would not be desireable to be totally realistic, because there are some of us that are in extremely poor physical shape. They could use it to grade pilot performance a few degrees either way from an average. This would have an interesting effect in my opinion of finding workarounds for your own shortcomings, or taking advantage of your own superior physical fitness. If there were those that felt it was too intrusive they could just opt to fly the default average pilot. It might also inspire some to start exercising??? LOL nah that's too much to ask.  :rofl

I did search for such an idea on the forums and came up with nothing, so if this has been suggested please ignore it or flame away.

This post actually made me think twice about what I was going to eat for dinner.  I have to ask you guys- "Does this P-47 make me look fat?" :lol

Oh no! not what I was getting at, at all. You are kidding right? nothing would be real time hooked up to you using my method.

First of all, I'm loving the hillarious responses. Second for those that are questioning the issue, the things you are bringing up were covered in my above posts if you read them carefully.

However, here is a rundown. 1st, this cant really be done due to privacy issues. 2nd all it would do if implemented would be to offer the opportunity to have your pilot reflect your physical issues in the game, which MAY be of some use for veteran pilots looking for more challenge. 3rd sure there would be a default pilot that you can use and its already implemented in the game. 4th This info would come from info you have collected about yourself from the DOCTOR (big strike right there) or other 3rd party methods of collecting data such as a blood pressure monitor, or a body fat percentage scale, or a pulse rate monitor that is given in hard data to hi-tech. In other words NO real time monitoring. As it stands I am eating a skinless chicken breast and whole kernel corn for dinner instead of pizza. So the idea is getting to me too.

Jouster...

We have physically handicapped players, pre-teens, women, barely ambulatory old pharts, etc., that play this game. Only a very few would be physically able to fly an airplane in real life, much less in combat. Something like you suggest would ground a large segment of players, permanently. In what way would this make sense for HTC to implement?

SRI bud. Just because it's a neat idea....doesn't mean it makes sense........in the virtual world. :)

1) install the game
2) pay 15$
3) "Sir, you are grounded for overweight issues, loose 20 kilos and try again"

simple solution already stated bud. fly the default pilot that is already available. I also realize it doesnt make sense, for different reasons. But hey, its a wishlist :)

I think the physical attributes of our little pilot person should be adjusted. As I see it, he has amazing upper body strength in regards to being able to deflect the elevator and ailerons, even in planes that are SUPPOSED to get very stiff there over 300 IAS. But he also seems to be a little on the lightweight side of normal as far as G-tolerance goes.

As far as the idea that started this thread...it is a silly place, and we shall not go there. (But if you wanted to do that, why not some sort of "force-feedback device" around your neck that inflates and puts you in the equivalent of a rear naked choke while pulling Gs...wait, I know! Deaths and lawsuits!)

Some kind of pilot stamina or endurance during fights might be nice. Currently we can pull and yank and back the planes endlessly. If there was a reserve of pilot endurance which would get spent in hard moves, we would have to start considering what one can do in a fight. Of course the stamina should rebuild quickly, but that would require a bit of easier flying for some short period of time.

I can imagine how the duels would change. One could try to tire the other one out before finishing him; make him spend his endurance, so that in the end the victim could hardly maneuver :)

I thought this was already incorporated . IIRC if you pull multiple high G moves, the onset of blackout becomes more severe at lower Gs. :huh
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure this has been there since AH1 days. :huh

Perhaps a device to measure how tightly you are clenching your lower body for higher G-tolerance?   :huh  :O   :devil
