the happening
« on: June 14, 2008, 02:21:12 AM »
get this, when making the movie the directors had a smart, funny, mean idea. Get a large amount of actors and dress them up as regular civilians then put them in a public area such as a shopping center or park and have them drop dead. When they all drop dead (same time and area) the ordinary civilians were freaked, confused, and scared. Doing this allowed directors to film people having a natural reactions to all the people droping dead. you can see this on youtube....

Saw a few clips of those ~ where they just freeze in place for about 2 minutes. One was in Grand Central Station.  Was cool to watch the reactions of everyone around them.

i know the one that you are talking about txmom...it really is beautiful...

but i don't recall them dropping dead, just standing very still.

hmmm.

i myself have this idea that involves a musical "ala west side story" that takes place in a coffee shop.

the whole thing happens and then the people go back about their business as if nothing ever happened.  just like in a musical.

i think that would be pretty strange, but i'll have to catch up with diablo to see what those are like.

 :D

wonder if he'll see that.

Uh what were all those actors dressed like before they dressed them as regular civilians??  :huh

Of course they were dressed to the nines in Armani and crap.  They aren't human of course.  All you have to do is look at Tom Cruise.  He is the biggest alien of them all.

Just my luck I'd be in a Freeze and the only one to fart and ruin it for everyone.

That wasnt the happening that txmom posted...that's a comedy website that gets random people together from the internet to do hilarious stunts....go to improveverywhere.com to see more of their funnier stuff....the one where they raid Best Buy all dressed in generic blue and yellow shirts is the funniest.

Between Tampa and Lakeland.  Great little town.  Strawberry Festival every year and we are the winter strawberry capital in the world.  Not that that means much.  <S>
