Buff guns

After playing this update for 2 days I am starting to wonder if you guys made any changes to the guns on the buffs.

I have been literally hosed on for 2 days now.  I have been putting out a lot of hits on fighters that come up behind me and just wax the tar out of me.  I have taken wings off of planes and they go down and I dont get any kill message.  Also I have the idea that the scoring is screwed up on the web page.  I have never shot down 3 buffs in my buff.  Tonight the score said I shot down 2 of them when I checked before.  Sure, I know I shot down some planes I didn't get credit for, but I did not shoot down any b17's in my buff.  I think I would have remembered that.

Also, I have noticed that the settings seem backwards to me in the stick setup for roll and yaw.  I use a ms pre pro, with twist rudder.  I set roll, ie, stick right and left, to full deadband, full damp, and my yaw is dead.  I do the same for yaw, and my roll goes dead.  And yes I know that my MS pre pro uses twist for rudder, i.e. yaw and my right/left for roll.  Gee's theres a lot of freaking experts in the game.

Got any ideas? Yes, many experts on the game say it works correctly, but we are talking microsoft here.    I have tried this several times and it always does the same  thing.

Also, since the update yesterday, my stick has goine totally screwy.  I was to the point of flying fighters where I could make a few passes before getting killed.  Now I try and make one stupid turn and I go into the spiral of death again.

Got any ideas?  And yes, of course, as always, I have tried my stick in several other stupid lame bellybutton games and it works fine.  Just that after all these weeks playing this game I have hoped that it would have gotten better.  After  tonight, I really feel like pissing this game away and not coming back.   Too many other MS people have had problems here to blow this one off as a mere setup problem.  Something  is fishy here.

When I fly a buff I have to adjust my deadband and dampers on my roll to get any rudder control.  And all the experts know that you need yaw, i.e. right and left turning, to bomb correctly.  Then when I try, i say try, to fly a fighter, i hvae to go almost full deadband and full damper on my "ROLL" so I dont go into a death spiral right away from a over producing rudder input.  Im just venting so bear with me.  I'm totally frustrated right now.

Also, I bailed from my b17 3 times and, to all the bathroom experts, I know about pressing the stupid O key to open my chute.  When I bailed, my chute  opened by itself and I sped to the ground in a freefall.  I could look in all my views and I could see my chute deployed.  I thought it was  open but died each time..

Thanks for putting up with my whining in the game.  Frustration is building up from my stick and I'm not going to buy another one just to play this game, when it works fine in every other stupid game I have ever played before, during and probably, after this one.

One more observation from a whinny whinny free ride non paying beta player.  Seems to me the server is really in need of a tune up.  I have been witnessing a lot of warping, no, more like skipping going on.

Yes Zoomski, your ship, the  only one out of 3 knight planes, was the only one doing it.  I don't really think it was me because other people were  noticing it also.  If somebody should ever tell me that I am warping, I believe that I have the decency to reconnect and not blame it on the other person saying, "my beacon is green..must be you"

Packet loss is packet loss. And yes, I exited the game and reconnected to my ISP and to Aces High.

Again, sorry about this venting but I'm really frustrated.

have ya nailed any gooney birds from your 17 smitty?  I believe those are counted as bombers for the kill count (otherwise I shouldna have 30+ something buff kills in my 17 =)

check to make sure under control panel, game controllers, that you do not have poll with interupts enabled.

wow, was expecting a few flames back to me on the my post last night.  I was tired and extremly frustrated.  Again, I appologize if I came off like a jerk.

1)  I shot down no C47's/ or B17's in my buff.  I was chasing a few but got no rounds into them.  I was to far away.  Other players were either credited for thier kill, or, in one circumstance, I was killed by AAA before I could get rounds on the buff by F5.

2)  I use a Vortex 2 sound card.  Thier drivers are considered to be the best in the business.  Thier port driver supplies no interupt for polling.  It is setup per tech instructions.

3)  I deleted my stick drivers thinking there was a bug in 3.02.  The original 3.0 drivers did the same thing.  I have since reloaded 3.02 back in.

4)  My main concern is that on my precision pro, adjusting the Yaw, and Roll in the Aces High stick setup, adjusts the opposite function on my stick.  All I ask is that somebody please check it out.  Could this have some affect on the playability of my stick?  I don't know.  In the stick setup, I am very amazed at the programming ability of Hitech to put in such a beautifull display showing all the inputs as if they were on an occilliscope.  Very well done indead.  On that display, my inputs show no spiking what so ever.  The infamous twist stick does produce a small amount of "yaw" when trying to roll.  So if the programming is reversed for some reason, I could acually be getting a little "roll" with applying "yaw".  Thus giving me the spiral of death.  Mayby the MS precision pro, i.e. totally digital stick, requires some special programming.  I have no idea since I am a techician in a totally unrealated field.

Thank you very much for putting up with this.  I am just grasping for ideas or explanations to what is occuring.

Thanks.

Hi Smitty.
I am wondering about the buff changes too. Seems like they have lowered its guns effectiveness but increased the 17s durability. I have still got some buff kills but the hits it took where amazing. I did a coalt 6 kill on a 17 and we had each other lit up for most of a minute. Just an observation based on 2-3 engagments.

Nothing has changed on the guns in many versions.  Ditto on damage stuff.
