readio operation question
« on: December 13, 1999, 07:29:00 AM »
Is there a way to turn off frequencies that I don't want to see?  If I set all the channels to "2", I still see all the "1" readio traffic, much of which has nothing to do with AH.

Usually the majority of radio traffic on channel 1 stems from a few select individuals.  Since I dont want to silence the entire channel, I just squelch those individuals who I dont want to listen to.  Keeps my text buffer from scrolling by too fast!

Just type into the radio buffer:

.squelch <cpid>

Shower,

The only thing I know about RW and AH is that RW must be started before AH is started.

Good Luck!

Shower, Roger Wilco is one of the easiest programs I've ever installed.
And I am a 'puterphobe too.

I'm not sure where you are with installing RW so real quickly just run the EXE file
(make sure it is the latest version 1C(.053).
If you have a compatible sound card your installtion should go fine and when you are done it should work fine. Other than tweakin volumes for the speakers or microphone.
And if you are behind a fire wall it may not work at all with trying to talk with other people.
Using the program is pretty much self evident. You either host a session or join one.
And you DO need to trun it on before starting Aces High. After you are in the sim and someone give you and IP address that they  have RW running on then you just ALT TAB out of Aces High (when you are on the gounr of course) enter the IP into RW and then click on the Aces HIgh tab in your systray to get back in. Maybe at worse you shut down AH, enter the IP in RW, and reload AH.
Folsk online are always a great help with folks setting it up and testing. Holler out
when you're online.

I have another question, Sound quality in RW depends on connection quality?
I have joined a few sessions, but voices are so distorted that I barely understand a few words. Maybe is just too hard for my toejamty english...

Shower it is usually a case by case basis.
Some folks in different countries have some long runnign Roger Wilco hosts running but the best thing to do is when you fly holler out on your countries channel to see who is running a session.

Takeshi I've been experiencing about 1 out of 4 people connected to a Roger Wilco session are badly distorted due to thier connection.  Of course it could be that the even the native "English" speakers talk "lovely"
