Ok, now when you see a task force you know what to expect, CV, CG and few DD's... This was not the case in WWII at all, most task forces didn't have CV's.
So how about changing fleets in MA so that country has only one CV? The other fleet could have for example two CG and few DD'a but no CV. Maybe each country could have third (or maybe fouth!) port which would have task force consisting only of DD's.
More task forces could give more opportunities to lower ranked players to control ships. Less valuable (DD's only) task forces could also be attacked by PT boats and torpedo bombers more effectively, creating more interesting and diverse arena.
One idea could be modeling generic merchant ship with one or two 40 mm guns. These merchants could move between ports either conrolled by player or by pre-entered route. When the merchant sunks, some (random) factory of city could lose some of its capability, thus effective severing countrys ability to fight a war.
CG only fleets could have ability to launch sea planes, just like CV can launch PT's. Sea planes could drop few bombs and do some scouting.
Also task forces need ability to launch something that is able to capture fields, this would make task force more formidable opponent. If someone sees task force pounding base at far behind your lines, you can be pretty sure it cannot capture it.
Sea aspect of this sim is far more interesting that I even had anticipated, keep up the good work!
