offline speed multiplier
« on: June 21, 2008, 08:42:53 PM »
This wish is purely for offline practice, it's not one of those "OmFG!!! I Effing Need This NOWW!!!!" wish. The HTC group can add this whenever they feel like it or when they have time.

My wish is to have a speed multiplier in the offline practice. Why? Because in most map, bases are over 10 minutes apart. Now I know people will say "Well, use a different map", but that's why I said what i said in the first paragraph, I don't need this right now. I'm thinking we could do something like T and Shift+T as the time controller. If you press "t" the first time, speed will be increased by 2x. Again, and it's 4x. Again and it's 8x. And Again and it would be normal again, 1x. Now Shift+T would be the opposite, it would slow things down. (Who doesn't like slow-mo for those sweet shots". First time it would be 1/2 of a second. Press it a second time and it slow down to 1/4 of a second. Again and it's 1/10 of a second. Again and it's back to normal.

I know we can use the Film viewer for this, but this is something that i would use instead (I'm a lazy person). So there's my idea.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Back to the original post, Fighter Ace 2.0 and 2.5 used to have that feature for off-line practice and it was quite beneficial, especially for those who wish to practice flying bombers and / or dive bombers.

If you want to fly to a very close enemy base offline, try the coralsea map and take off from A1 (Bish) in the south-west corner; A11 (Rook) is just over the hill.  Takes two minutes to get there.

Another option is offline missions... warp to your destination.  Roll your own or check the list.

go to the training arena, download it, and use it offline.

In the bombing training area you can spawn at 20K directly over target.
