I'm 47.
Massive pain every day.
After a national bronze medal and national title--the only thing it got me was multiple spinal operations. Wasn't worth it.
I have 3 hurniated disks, one vertibrae in my neck over another. That doesn't even include my lower back, knees, and having lost 1/3 the use of my right arm and I'm right handed. Neuroseurgeon (after the 5th MRI) is talking fusing 4 vertibrae together with titanium rods...through the front of my throat.
Had steroid injections into my spine 2 days ago. That was fun. Can't notice any difference.
Pick up the guitar, son--or better yet, work to get 29's on your ACT's and do nothing but study in college.
Wish someone had told me that.
I hope you live to see 100---in something other than a bed or wheelchair.
That's a former Olympic class athalete talking.
If I had it to so all over again.
I'd pick up the books and a guitar.
Oh..and do research on stocks. Go long on gold and biofuels.
Happy birthday. I hope you live to be 100---very healthy
