Bitmap size and viewer cache anomaly?

I'm trying to kick the rust off my B-17 Little Patches and finish it, can't believe it's been so long since I put the project down. After working with my 1024 AHII files for it I ran across a couple of things.

I've noticed when I export the default B-17 skin in the hanger, the bitmap is 512x512, is this the current size for submitting skins now, or are submittals to htc still 1024? Yes, my in-game video is set for 1024 textures.

Secondly, anytime I use the skin viewer, AHSKVIEW2102, it causes the game to rebuild the cache file.

So question 1 is, what is the submittal texture size for the B17 and question 2 is, what's causing the game cache to rebuild after using the skin viewer?

Hiyas Easyscor.

Default is still 1024x1024.

The skin view always has issues after a new version.  I, and others, have started keeping two versions of AH2 on the HD, one for skining and another to fly!

Did you re-install the hires pack after the last new version?

I get that issue with mutltiple skins. I think some aircraft have not been updated in anyway since they were ALL 512, and so the still come in 512. I just scale it up to 1024 and start my work there.
