UPDATE !! Version 2.1 Now !
             BASES NOW WORK !
IF YOU DOWNLOADED FROM THIS POST...IT HAS BEEN UPDATED !

Here's the Bigger more Beautiful Luzon ver 2.1

Changes Since Version 2.0
-All the bases work

Changes Since Version 1.0

-Large white numbers for airbases.  needed for mission editor
but kept  placenames in smaller darker font to add to emmersion.
- Fixed rivers as they appear on real map.
- Took out VH bases in and around Manila. was causing too much
   clutter and frame rate drop.
- Added two extra bases

- Didn't use highlight tool in this scan...to make the mountains a little higher.

-Increased size of map... makes it fit in map square better.
-Added all kinds of "stuff"... jungle huts, fishing boats on beach,
monasteries, funky old houses with rusted tin roofs,
beached oil tanker, bamboo and coconut stands etc.

Download the installer here:

Luzon21.exe

To Install
Just run the installer and point it to your Aces High terrains directory.

I like Snoopi he hosts h2h sessions most every night and keeps a clean game.. mostly nice ppl show up.
If I could find out from Orge the airbase bug that would be nice.
This texture set was originally for Burma my next project,  but Ripsnort, my CO suggested I clean up Luzon2 instead.  Fine.. then realized the map I was using for Burma didn't include Rangoon. Also didn't include the Hump, eastern India or western China... needed for scenario.  After doing some research on Burma, I noticed there isn't much farmland there.. so the Burma map I'll swap farmland for yet more jungle  ... 6 different variations -grin- It will look darker, deeper, more dangerous (oh baby)  "good thing yer in an airplane not walkin around down there"  I garren-damn-tee the next map will be the best ever! LOL

Someone mentioned W. Europe.... I can do that   but I need to ask you guys.. Do you want nice pretty late summer Europe or do you want war torn bomb shattered death and destruction Europe in winter?
10Bears--
PS for the curious, to snatch textures, I use those bigass coffee table books XXX by air... this case "Hawaii by Air" from local library

Camoflage works great in this terrain.
Without icons it would be very hard to track targets.

Hmmm. now I just HAVE to work on my SA.

First off Luzon is looking great! VERY very nice work.

Burma sounds interesting indeed, could be a very interesting theatre.

10bears, ever considered a really good detailed Guadalcanal/Solomons terrain?

Pearl?

<chuckles with an evil grin while planting TNT under the thread>

This'll blow the sucker straight to the top! Punt? What numbskull came up with that? After all, high explosives are applicable when truth and logic fail.

Thnx for the download link Snoopi! - I am not flying much H2H anymore so I hadnt heard of Luzon.
And to you Luzon: Very nice work indeed. I just took a brief testflight and it appears to me that waves on the water is moving, it makes water looks alive, and as there is a heavy wind downthere.
