Learning ACM (videos, threads etc...)
« on: July 06, 2008, 02:47:44 AM »
I'm definitely new to the game, been playing for 4 months and was wondering if someone could give me links to some good ACM videos or even discussion/threads/websites that have proven helpful to other new pilots. This forum is pretty vast and if someone could point me in the right direction that'd be greatly appreciated. Just want to learn as much as possible.

Well first off, congratulations on wanting to better yourself.  It might take a little while and some dedication, but it's well worth it!

To start off with, I would suggest reading the trainers site.  Lots of good info in general about the game, plus ACM analysis.

This next site is along the lines of the trainers site, with a little other stuff thrown in.  There's also some ACM topics/analysis there.
http://www.netaces.org/

I'd also suggest these two sites, which take in depth about the plane of your choice, because knowing more about your plane and how it stacks up to others is an important factor in a dogfight and choosing your ACM's.

Descriptions about planes.

A site that allows you to compare up to four various planes in terms of speed, climb, turn radius, firepower, acceleration, etc...

Lastly here's some various 1v1 films that I have.   Watch as many as you want, or as little as you want (I put what I thought were the most beneficial ones as the first couple and then spread the rest out).  Watch them with my views enabled, then from the enemies point of view, and then in fixed view with trails enabled to really get the most out of them.  These first two are of rolling scissors, which you will find yourself getting into a lot as your fights progress:

These are the rest of the 1v1's.  I'll try to post a few more for you later that aren't 38's and which also show various ACM choices.  For now, here are these:

Other then that, just search the help and training forum with keywords like ACM, BFM, etc, etc, hook up with a trainer for some ACM decision making, and film your fights, watch them, and post them here to get opinions from various people.

Good luck! :aok
