Question about landing your plane
« on: March 19, 2001, 01:46:00 PM »
Ok, I have never done this before, but if you land will your AC get rearmed/refueled/repaired?  Instead of clicking on tower and ending that run?  I have sometimes hit AC very hard yet had to land for fuel, which of course negates my kill from previous run.  I am still learning all the rules/.commands for this game, so any advice would be helpful I am now on my 9th day of flying.

Sturm....just taxi over to the Refuel/Rearm pad, wait the required 30 seconds, and you will be refueled/rearmed.  You will NOT be repaired.  Any damage your plane received during that ride will still be there unless you exit to the tower and get a new plane.

The refuel/rearm pads are located at the end of each runway....small building with a gray pad next to it.  Taxi onto the gray pad.  You should see a message saying the 30 second refuel/rearm process is working.

Don't know if they've fixed it or not, but don't hit the little shed. Last time I did, (2 versions ago) it knocked my plane bellybutton over tea kettle. Haven't gotten near the thing since.

I'm sure the solid refuel building wasn't around until 1.05.

Reason I think this, is beacuse I watched my CO take his wing off on one and it was just after the fleets were added.

as far as i know, the outhouse can still kill you.  i have done this a few times spinning a b17 around (running on one right engine, left brake locked etc)  my tail gets ripped right off as it passes through the honey shack

Just don't hit the little shack or you'll break the plane. Found that one out the hard way when I parked a 109 G2 a little too close and lost the wing.

If in a large bomber, just get one wheel on the corner of the pad, that's enough to get you going, don't forget to shut your engine off too.

Repair would be a cool option. Taxii to the little netting (the vh-looking one without a roof) or to a hangar and sit there for 30 seconds.

Me want!

Yeah Tac - but I was under the impression that replacing a wing was quite time-consuming engineering procedure.

Not as quick as going to the tower grabbing a beer and having them fix your plane in a matter of seconds  Beer half gone plane all ready GF is pissed cuz I said I would land and get off the puter and spend quality time with her only to find out the plane is sitting idling on tarmac calling out to me saying hey jack nut you fubar'ed the last run get up here and prove I am not a POS FW!  ok maybe not the last part, but it would make sense for a 30 second rearming as well.  I hate going to the hanger.  Weirdo's hang out up there.
