Fishing and Camping is tiring...
« on: July 07, 2008, 09:41:46 AM »
Just ask my kids. 100 deg + heat makes it tiring too.

Mike, I'll give you a call tonight after 4:30pm

I think the heat made his cheeks red, because he had SP45 (waterproof) on the whole time, although I acquired a nice red glow as well even with SP45 on.

Gotta agree, Rip. Spent the weekend camping with family at Lake Texoma. The kids were dropping like flies. That sun will wear you out.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I'm trying to decide which is worse, 100+ deg and DRY air, or 100+ and humid air?  I think the latter (after having put up with 18 summers in Minnesota) but when one is not used to high it, it kicks yer butt, regardless of how dry or humid it is...

Not nearly as bad as Central Texas weather. We went to Phoenix Arizona and it was 112 there and it felt about 80 because it was so dry. Humidity kills you worse than how dry it is.

Yep, I agree. Read this awhile back. High humidity makes people feel hotter outside in the summer because it reduces the effectiveness of sweating to cool the body by preventing the evaporation of perspiration from the skin

Careful.  In a lot of our "Progressive" neighborhoods, that's enough to get you an assault charge.   :P

But it is easier to get into a pool with the humidity. It feels like it's about 120-125 in Texas with the Humidity added to it.

A fine hotel without at least 45 cable channels and 5 movie channels is roughing it.

Rip you could share the secret to that.
This one and her three sisters batteries didn`t run down for three days over the holidays.
On the other hand, Popaw`s recovery is estimated at about two weeks.  :D
