I think the M-18 would be great. 60mph with a 76mm gun. There was also the further developedM36 which had a 90mm...

the germans fielded the puma and a late war version with a 75mm gun. the m3 had a varient with a 75mm howizer on it. plus some german 251 series tanks had the 75mm anti tank gun. these would make a fast moving vehicle for taking v-bases and have the ability to kill heavy armor. the m8 is a good vehicle but severly under gunned.
AFAIK, the only version that was referred to as the "Puma" was equipped with a 50mm AT gun, not the 75mm gun.

The version with the 75 was open topped and the gun was fixed, i.e. no turret.

Stop and look at the scale of things we have now.  If it is fast, it dies quickly (M8).  If it is slow, it takes longer to bust up (Tiger).  If we add in anything fast WITH a powerful gun for one shot kills... let it be the M18 tank destoyer.  But mind you, the armor of the M18 wasnt enough to go toe to toe with another tank in a slug fest.  The M18 was all about shootin'-n-scootin'.

There must be a trade off, otherwise the balance of the Force will shift already well balanced GV realm in towards the raelm of the Spit16.  Do we want to have each and every gv battle involve a single gv (the all powerful M18)???  I think not.  Balance.

I think the M-18 would be a pretty good balance, because it has an open turret... and usually there are a lot of aircraft overhead to turn the crew in the turret to mush  :D

The Achilles was a modified M-10, just like the Firefly was a modified Sherman.

I'd suggest a B25H.  75mm gun and a lot faster then any ground vehicles :)

Yeh but 50mm's in a german armord car seems a solid addition, and boy what a good time it would be almost holding parity with a Panzer, though the Hellcat makes me slobber a bit at the corners of me mouth, it seems a bit off-topic to suggest here since it really isnt a scout vehicle...

So whatever version of that german dune buggy suits me...Do I smell update>? :D

Um...
The B-25H is already in the game. I don't know if that was your point or not but just thought it sounded a little odd.

3 hits in the back of the turret with a m-8 equals dead panzer. A couple of got m-8 drivers can completely change a gv battle since you spend time looking for the fast movers than are disabling tanks the heavies get a chance to set up better.

M3/M5 Stuarts were used as scouts, and the Panzer III 'Luchs' was an effective recon tank. If you're looking for firepower and speed, but not much armor, look at the M24 Chaffee.

Pumas were effective vehicles, but never produced in enough numbers to matter.

As long as players try to kill Tigers with Wirbelwinds or M8s, there will never be 'balance' in this game. During WW2, Sherman tanks would gang up on a Tiger to kill it, that was the only way to effectively remove it from the battlefield. No M8 commander, even one with marginal sanity, would put his M8 up against an AFV.  But...this is a game...and death isn't permanent, just a respawn.
