Really not that high IMHO.  When I was active I figure the "1 and done" rate was about 70%.  I know the 4 years that I was in during peace time I certainly didn't want to stay and the majority of the people that I knew on my ship back then felt the same way.  Sounds like a typical media spin on ordinary facts.

It is I suspect a grand tradition in every army, navy and air force to grumble about the service. Nothing new in that. Conduct a survey and it's grumble heaven. I seem to remember from somewhere that the time to worry is when the soldiers stop complaining. Particularly in the British forces. :O
