Navigator function for Bombers
« on: July 15, 2008, 11:57:42 PM »
I've found it's pretty difficult to line up a bomb run on a target that doesn't require some maneuvering when the target's in visual range.  What I envision would be an option to draw on the map, limited to or with the option to draw a straight line including one straight forward from the plane.

Here, read this...  Print it out so you have something to do on those bomber climbouts :)

Once you have a few runs under your belt you'll realize it's pretty simple as is.  It can seem a bit daunting at first, but you'll get the hang of it. (hey, I'm a fighter guy and I can do it :D )

Pretty simple actually. As you approach max visual range from target watch from either nose turret, or external view.

When you can see the target line the plane up so it will overfly the target.

Go calibrate.

The better job you do of lining up the more options you have.
This includes figuring out optimum attack angles, IP points, etc.

In effect by going to F3 external mode, zooming out, you turn the plane into its own pointer.
Showing you where it is going to go.
