I was watching The Temple of Doom and the scene where Indy, the prostitute and Shortround jump from the plane gave me an idea...

Why don't we have inflatable rafts?

First of all, they can be used in conjunction with chutes, in the event that a chute is shot away, a raft can be deployed to slow the descent to a survivable velocity.

Second of all, a pilot landing on water can stay in the water for days without drowning. If the situation presents itself, he can even mount an attack on an enemy CV with his .45!

There is utility to this concept, and there's nothing wrong with a little multi-tasking once in the water.

I completly agree...
I think that an american with his colt could take over a german ship full of men with mp44's... that is, if he had his portable radio to play a hypnotizing channel, but we could also double it as a radio!!

And to counter this... can we get a NEW weapon optional for when you bail out AND wing mounted??? I'd love a crossbow!!

Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

i dont see why we would need rafts at all, if you die in this it is not real, just bail and ".ef" like everyone else in the game  :furious

another great idea slipknot !

what do you think of adding some sharks?  after 30 minutes or so of paddling around they start to surround your raft, if you have wasted all your .45 ammo on planes your defenceless  whilst they bite a big hole on the raft you get submerged and the Jaws theme plays and they rip your body apart piece by piece.

We'll send the traumitised indivaduals to your office for some couch time.

The wind for their watcher, the wave for their shroud,
Where palm and pandanus shall whisper forever,

So long as they have Friggen Laser beams attached to their heads.
