Philosophy Of A Knife (2008)
« on: July 25, 2008, 10:58:40 PM »
Has anyone seen/heard of this?  I stumbeld accross it in another forum and was thinking about watching it.

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0961119/

The plot is based off of "The true history of Japanese Unit 731".  They were a murderous bunch that tortured captives to run experiments on them.  It's a 4 hour long movie and it's being labled as a Gore-umentary.  Basically a documentary with a movie presence to it.  It sounds really freakin gross but like a train wreck I can't take my eyes off it.  Wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this.

Read the reveiews at IMDB for more info.  Again not sure if I want to watch this or not.

I get the impression it's a very disturbing movie from the reviews.  Not sure I'd really want to see it.

Sitting through a 4 hour film is not my idea of fun. Sitting through 4 hours of that garbage is starting to become a self-ironic statement about torture.

Why would you watch that? Reading about it is one thing, since it is part of the historical record, but to recreate it with special effects smacks of either a lack of imagination or a lack of mental balance on the part of the viewer.

Enjoy!  :aok
