I don't quite understand the gayphobia. Many people are so negative towards gays, but seldom there's any actual reason given for it. The ol' bible is hardly a good reason - whee, someone says gays are sinners, so they must be bad. gee, it's labeled as a sin in a book that's been found contradictous on more than one occasion, quite a reasoning!
Personally I can't stand the thought of going to bed with another man (brr.. just the thought of it!), but it's nothing off from me if two men find themselves attracted to each other. They're happy and I remain just as happy as I was before. Unhappy people, however, can affect the happyness of others.
I do actually know a registered gay couple and they do always behave very nice. They respect me and I respect them - I don't have to feel uneasy with them around, if you know what I mean (or what you might be afraid of). Besides, they make really good food when they're hosting a small party of sorts (i've forgot the actual word for it

- yeah yeah, wiseguys, I know what you'd like to say

).
Eitherway, banning the gays has never stopped gays from serving in the armed services (unless they're of course registered as a couple, which is possible nowadays).
