People said the same things about blacks and women.  Not everyone got over having the armed forces integrated and co-ed.  For the most part, however, our armed forces are much better off skimming the best of all Americans, not just white Christian good-ol-boys.

I don't quite understand the gayphobia. Many people are so negative towards gays, but seldom there's any actual reason given for it. The ol' bible is hardly a good reason - whee, someone says gays are sinners, so they must be bad. gee, it's labeled as a sin in a book that's been found contradictous on more than one occasion, quite a reasoning!

Personally I can't stand the thought of going to bed with another man (brr.. just the thought of it!), but it's nothing off from me if two men find themselves attracted to each other. They're happy and I remain just as happy as I was before. Unhappy people, however, can affect the happyness of others.

I do actually know a registered gay couple and they do always behave very nice. They respect me and I respect them - I don't have to feel uneasy with them around, if you know what I mean (or what you might be afraid of). Besides, they make really good food when they're hosting a small party of sorts (i've forgot the actual word for it  - yeah yeah, wiseguys, I know what you'd like to say :)).

Eitherway, banning the gays has never stopped gays from serving in the armed services (unless they're of course registered as a couple, which is possible nowadays).

This disgrace on the ban on the gays in military is Bill Clintons..His "No See..No Tell" policy...was his alone.

Another example of his betrayal of the Left.

not just white Christian good-ol-boys.
You mean those guys that, for the vast part, brought the greatest victory to this nation way back about 63 years ago?

Yeah, the country sure as hell has changed since then hasn't it  :aok

And what may I ask is wrong with a white Christian male?  You seem to think that all whtie Christian males are good ole boys?  Guess you must not know any white Christian males.  You guys sure bash us for having our opinions.  But, when it comes to yours, I am insensitive.  We believe homosexuality to be wrong.  DEAL WITH IT!!!!!  I deal with the fact you don't believe what I do.  I persoanlly think it would be wrong to allow them to have an open life style in the military.  My .02

and I can tell you from actual experience that those who serve and are gay have little to worry about.  If you get out of the military because you are gay it's because you WANTED OUT!

Very true this individual chose to come out on television, the gate was inevidable after that.  I have to tell you though, all of us that knew him were shocked

Get out of the stone age you diddlyin racist. It's not their fault they're gay. It's hardwired. Should we just shoot them on site because you say, "it's wrong"? This is America for Christ's sake.

I don't see where he said shoot gays, or where he made a racist statement. You're right it is America and he's as entitled to his opinion as much as you are without being called a boinkin racist. Wouldn't you think?

that second article that was posted, in the beginning it said something like "Gay's would try to strike up romantic urges with every man or women in arms reach", I'm not trying to be against gay's or anything, but if there is a fear of that, then why dont gay's go to a seperate boot camp from heterosexuales? it may sound mean, but it could be a very simple answer to the problem. just my thought, no offense intended.
