Looking for sources
« on: July 22, 2008, 10:59:37 PM »
Does anyone have any profiles or pictures of the 349th Troop Carrier Group (9th AF). I just found out today my great uncle flew C-46s and C-47s with that unit during the war before he went over to B-24s. (It seems everyone in my family who went into the military flew bombers for the air force at some point...). Unfortunately, he doesn't have any photos of any of the aircraft, especially any he flew, so I was hoping to do something else from his unit.

Group history available on abebooks.com

I don't have it, and it's not cheap, but it would be the way to go

Whoah! Hes my great uncle, and I love him, but not enough to spend $85 to do a skin for his old unit!

That's not bad for a group history at all, especially a limited printing of a fairly unknown unit.

It all depends on how important the history is to ya :)

It's important, and if I could afford it I would snatch it up. Problem is I just shelled out $1,200 to do a school in North Dakota, Ive got 2+ more schools I want to do next year so thats going to run 2k+ easily, and I still don't have a job. (Cannot get one until September). So money is tight for me to say the least ;)
