I sure do like the concept about new arfield structures deployment. More on this line, I would love to have ack locations/fuel depots/barracks/ammo dumps defined by player.

For instance, once the field is captured, the Goon driver has a 5 min. window to deploy ack & light structures positions within airfield perimeter. If no deployment is made then a default pattern is used.

The merits that I can think of this idea are:

  • Promotes Goon/M3 driving
  • Adds variation to fields
  • Encourage reckon flights
  • Hardens Strato-Buff deack flights

Any comment welcome

You will probably like the field objects I made for my Philippines terrain - I used the map bunker object for all the fuel and ammo bunkers.

Since there isn't an oildirt overlay under the fields they blend into the terrain as those objects are drawn using the texture they are placed on.

See my "Beware the Golum" thread in the screenshot section to see an example of an object drawn from the terrain texture. In the "SHO-GO" thread are pics of the airfields.

Excellent terrain Jihad, thks for sending it, Geeman is enjoying it too!
Q: Will you be adding grids to it and airfield numbers?

Yep, while I'm working the bugs out its easier on my eyes w/o the grid.
