Yeah the 103 is pretty heavy, three times an MG151/20 or MK108.  Two of em + a BK5 would be a real handful.. Maybe that says something about the airframe?  A lighter MK103 loadout would be ace, though :)  Too bad 8x20mm was such a rare field mod.

Dang, it looks like those gun packages we're drooling over are spread over two models:

The A2 and B2.. Let's hope there's no reason for HTC to model only one of the two.

There was no Me262 'version'. There was one prototype built with the BK5 in the nose, it never went into production.

The most important part of the Me410's armament, IMO, was not the BK5, but rather the MK103, which fired a larger 30mm round MUCH faster than the Mk108 we have in game. The ultimate aircraft cannon :) (although it was insanely heavy... 140+ kilograms IIRC)

Not sure what you're trying to say. The BK5 was a 50mm round. The MK108 was a 30mm round with all of 1600 fps muzzle velocity. The MK103 was a 30mm round with something like 2800 fps muzzle velocity. Both were smaller than the BK5, though the high velocity of the MK103 would be nice if you're actually trying to hit a moving target, unlike the MK108 that has something like a 50 foot drop at 800 yards.

Is that a fourth glass plate on the U2/R4 variant?  Below the lowest one on every other configuration: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/%3cFA%3eJaws/16G.jpg
It doesn't look like it'd be useful, given the row of gauges in the way, cockpit-side: http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/245_1079730091_wrg0237.jpg

Yes, but when you consider;
4/5 times, a single hit from a 30mm will bring down a fighter.
5-10 30mm hits will usually bring down a bomber.

Now, out of pure speculation, lets say that a 50mm round will be 3x more powerful than a 30mm round (as modeled in game, in general, a 30mm round is approximately 3x as powerful as a 20mm round, which is 3x as powerful as a .50 cal round, which is 3x as powerful as a .30 cal round (Source).

So... we'll standardize a 30mm hit to one and a 50mm hit to three.

The BK5 has an ROF of 45 rounds per minute.
The Mk103 has an ROF of 380 rounds per minute.

In one minute of sustained fire, a BK5 would cause equal damage to 135 30mm hits.
1 Mk103 alone churns out 380 RPM, and the Me410 in this configuration has two Mk103s.... so it produces 5.6 times as more firepower from the Mk103s as from the BK5.

Thus my belief that the Mk103 is more significant in the Me410's armament than the BK5 :)

And then add the fact that the 103 round is way stronger than the 108's..  The BK5'll be hell for relatively stationary targets, though.  I don't know the comparative numbers, but the B25H's 75mm's already fairly easy to land on formations and GVs from really far out.  That's probably more difficult a shot than the BK5 will be.

The later models of 410s removed the 7mm guns in place of 13mm MG131s (like in the Fw190a8 nose), and one version, counting either 4 guns in the bomb bay and a gunpod, or possibly 2 guns in the bomb bay and 2 separat gunpods, had a total of 8x MG151/20s plus the 2x MG131s.

Early models had 4x 7.9mm I think, but I don't have any books with me here at work.

MK103s would be nice, definitely, don't get me wrong. Probably rare, and very heavy, but the 20/30mm combo and the 8x 20mm gun packages are what REALLY get me drooling!

I think the consensus last time around was that the 8x20 was a one-off field mod.. The 6x20 looks like a factory config though, "B-2 U2/R5". There's two factory R setups with MK103s (B2 U2/R3 and B2 U4) so as far as I know they were as common/rare as any other.
The rear guns and equipment removal mod seems to have been flown a few times by at least one pilot. I think it was on these forums that someone showed documentation for it.

Just curious, why would anyone want the Mig 3? I read up on it and it sounded like a 109G2 but a complete and utter failure....

Yes, 8x 20mms would be nice, but still...having a bomber with the possibility of 14x 50cals pointed forward, not to mention another 4x 50cals in two turrets, is rather nice.  Couple this with a bomber with a speed of at least 355 mph, and ords of up to 4,000 lbs, and you've got a winning combination.

What is it?  THE A-26 INVADER W000T W0000T W000T!!!!!
