Fatal vs Lethal kills...

Am I right in thinking that if you explode an aircraft, you get the kill regardless?

Surely if you shoot a guys wing off, you got the kill? Not some guy on the deck who gets a lucky ping and blows the plane up?

Fair enough, if you remove his ailerons, he could still survive, but he's not gonna survive a wing, even if he stays with the aircraft to try and minimise his freefall time?

kfsone, I believe the kill (including both example situations) is determined soley by the fact of who did the most total damage.

I would like a confirmation of this, It has been my experience that the last guy to ping the craft has gotton the kill.  This may be a coincedence, but it seems to be.

Here's how it was explained to me: The guy before you might have peppered the plane all over without doing any catostrophic damage, Your shot might be the straw that broke the camels back.

Still kinda strange to come upon a plane with no evident damage, saw a wing off him and get an assist for your trouble.

Right or wrong, its just a part of the game. Having too much fun to worry about it alot.

My experience is that if you make him pop, no matter who did what kind of damage you get the kill. There are some AH'ers that are very adept at this kind of killing. This don't hold true to GV's though, I've put multiple AP hits into a GV only to have someone else get the kill after they strafe him and I finally do pop him.

I've gotten many delayed kills because a friendly finished off an enemy I had stopped pursuing.

Basically, I don't chase the runners or the deck dives.

Interesting question here... Blowing up a plane most often means a pilot kill, would this automatically give you enough points to get the kill, even if someone has previsouly took 1 wing of that plane of?

Just seeing a lot of people fretting about it and a lot of pilots chasing wounded-birds for the chance of perk points...

Might be too hard to model, and I guess you might have long debates on what's a fatal kill...
