Skuzzy - System Stability?
« on: September 13, 2008, 01:55:55 PM »
Skuzzy I came across a system stability test program here:

http://systester.sourceforge.net

When I run this on my AMD Athlon 64 X2 I get occasional errors under 32 bit XP and fewer under XP X64. Is this due to the threading issue of AMD? I dont think the patch has ever succeeded in installing properly and unless I run AHII in compatibility mode on that system it locks up or crashes altogether.

When I run this program on the Intel machine under Vista 64 I can run 32 threads and calculate PI to 128 million decimal places without any errors but of course I cant do anything else while that is happening.

Is this a valid test tool or just a fancy gadget?
