How about a Heinkel He-177?
Might be a nice alternative to what's there... certainly more survivable than a Betty (they liked to burn and come apart!), better payload, 20mm cannon defensive armament, respectable performance, and it saw combat, actually used to bomb London in 1944.
Not entirely successful as a design with two engines in one nacelle, but certainly qualifies as a production, saw-service aircraft.
It's got a decent speed, 350mph max at 16,000 ft. with 15, 800 pounds of bombs....
I'm not saying' gimme gimme gimme, but I haven't noticed anyone else asking for it...it might be a nice medium-perk aircraft.
Thoughts? (rational, intelligent ones please!)
