b17 vs Lanc

well as i was RTB i spot some ole lancs about 3k away from me. I slide into position and start firing. next thing ya know the lanc is firing back but he's on fire. Then BOOOM down goes the lanc. the rest of the lancs run away from me scared of my .50 cals. lol  Triggy2

Depends on the alt.

Lancs start getting faster about 8k or so and keep faster until 15k or so, then they're even until 18k and drop off while the B-17 (with turbos) keeps going. The Turbos in the B-17 give it better power up at higher alts.

lancs are faster than B17s..... although his B17s was RTB and empty, so maybe not....

Know what you mean, Latrobe. Last night, I was bombing in a B-26 with a buddy who was also in lances and spotted a set of nmy Lances heading for a friendly carrier. Just turned around and shot him with my 6 50cals while my buddie went for the 2 drones. It was fun. I wish I had gotten a snapshot, though

Ya, a while back some of my squadies went to a different country to find a fight, and I could hear them over VOX. I wanted to bomb them and have a little fun, but the only problem was they were fighting the wrong country! I decided to up some B-17's anyways and fly across the map bomb them. As I neared their base I found some B24's co-alt and decided to show my squadmates some bomber vs bomber. Got them down to 1 B24 left with 3 heavily damaged B-17s on my end when a flight of Lancs came in. So, there were 3 Lancs, followed by 3 enemy B-17's, followed by 1 B24!  I was switching from seat to seat trying to shoot the Lancs and B24's! Was good fun.

I was upping a set of B-17s the other day in Titanic Tuesday...

An enemy B-24 formation came up and fired a burst at me...knocked out a few turrets...but messed up my bomb run completely...so I went after him, he went after a single friendly B-24 that was a bit lower and killed him.

So I caught up about a minute later, then opened fire, got about 20 hits or so all over him, then he shot down all of my bombers.
