paintball is great fun! For my 18th birthday 7 years ago we all went with about a group of 30 players. Some awesome fun games.

The only bad thing was...seeing as it was my birthday...the last game was 29 vs 1....and seeing as I am half scottish...they made me wear a kilt...

I looked like i had run naked up to a bee's nest and head butted it.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

I used to play paintball a lot... even got a very expensive custom-made autococker.  In the end though, it wasn't worth the money.  It was nice when I was using it... but there was a lot to keep track of to keep it working perfectly.  It seemed like I was often playing "marker upkeep" rather than "paintball".  Whenever I wasn't playing paintball, it always seemed like my expensive marker was going to waste unused.

If I had to do it again, especially now that I don't play very much, I'd get a nice Tippman instead.  Cheap enough I don't feel bad if I don't play at all one summer, quality enough that I don't feel outgunned when I do play.

Also it would be great if I could convince people to play pump.  Its really a more fun style of play... more running around and chasing and it brings sniping and aiming back into the game.  That and you don't burn through so much ammo (which is why most fields only rent semi-autos, they want you to throw a lot of paint so they make more money), the markers are usually less expensive, and they run fine on cheap CO2.  But its hard when you can't find a place to rent pumps and hardly anyone can be convinced to buy a quality pump on their own.

Not sure what you wear when you play airsoft, but my friend and I just wear jeans and a T-shirt, and there is no doubt that it hurts.  Especially if one of us "forgets" and uses full auto, welts galore.

Though I agree, it won't be on the same level as paintball.  There's just something to bunkering a guy from about 5 feet away that makes you smile.

Depends on where it's being played. Shorts & a t-shirt are usually the order of the day. Cargo pants for the woods. If I know I'm in a position where I'm going to take a beating, I'll break out a neoprene throat protector. Knee/shin pads & slider pants to keep the ground from chewing me up... but that's it other than goggles and a hat turned backwards.

Though once upon a time I did have a paintball smack off the top of my head and give me a flash knockout that sent me face first into the ground while exiting the field after already being shot out. That sucked.

Never been knocked out, but I have been lit up in the back of the neck many a time.  Not a fun experience, the guy had a line of paint going from the bottom of my neck to my ear  :lol.
