A possible solution...

Have the kill go to the pilot that removed the first critical component of the aircraft.  Whole wing, vert stab, tail structure etc.  Possibly issue credit for the kill upon this occuring.  For the pilot getting the kill he would then be able to keep his alt and laugh as he watches the kill stealers gather around the already dead aircraft.
In a situation where there are multiple aircraft attacking one, the first pilot to do fatal damage would get the kill.  This may not be perfect, but better than the current system.  In cases where you've removed both elevators for example, the above system likely wouldn't help much.  As long as we have the death spirals etc there may always be a chance for someone to finish the job.  The alternative... POPPING aircraft like in AW.. we don't want that huh..

OOpps and for those who complain about kill stealers!  Do your part, once you know you are done, bail even if u don't pull your chute, and give credit where credit is due.

RAM that's called Loose Deuce...

This is a team sport, you score potatos.  Get a grip.  Stop focusing on your pretty little stats and have some fun.

The day I start focusing in the stats I will start flying much higher than 15K, and not diving into a sea of cons to clear someone's six...

I do it right now

AKskruj

I couldn't do that even if I wanted to.  I unmapped the bail keys to prevent any momentary lapses of reason that might prevent me from causing a massive, smoking hole in the ground at the end of each and every flight.

Works like a charm too.

A enemy F4U bounces me. I avoid him. He bounces me again, I avoid him once more. He eventually comes down and starts to fight like a man. I outmaneouver it. I gain E on it. I am about to kill it...

LOL Ram that is a pretty funny statement since most Waffles just run after they lose the advantage. But as Hristo pointed out it's good ACM.

He eventually comes down and starts to fight like a man. LOL are you saying those A8 and 109 pilots that do this are not?

This i gotta see!

Torque, after I take off I climb to 15K. sometimes a bit higher (17-18K) most times lower (12-14K), in my fw190A5. Nearly all lonewolf sorties.

If I was to run AFTER I lose advantage I wont take off...because 80% of my fights start from a severe disadvantage

BTW anyone who has fited me will tell you one thing:

RAM may win or lose a fight. But RAM Stays ALWAYS in the fight. RAM ALWAYS is willing to help a country mate...and call sixes whenever possible.

And BTW I luv to outmaneouver bouncing cons   the 190A5 is the best plane for that, IMO

Plus you never did answer my question about the MAN thing above? Curious.

Ram you are the UNWAFFLE Waffle.

I proposed something like that some time ago Skurj.

HTC should really make a `fatal` damage thing (aka, when wing breaks, or stabilizers are shot out, etc) and award the kill to the player that inflicted that damage once the plane crashes. That way any dickhead that follows a wingless plane to the deck, spraying 20mm into it will definetely do a lot more `damage` than the guy that cut that plane`s wings with 2 .50`s, but he wont get the kill OR an assist.

Oh man, ill be home tomorrow... WARM ME P-38 boys, this flying target is coming back! =)

Staffo, the NS-37 37mm cannon & the NS-45 45mm cannon are Uber

In prior Yak-9UT and Yak-9T discussions, Pyro seemed to indicate that it wasn't likely that we would see either of those two guns in AH for a very long time.

Basically with either gun, you would open up Tanks with a single shell, and rip bombers totally apart.

NS-37  37mm x 195mm (735 g) 250 rpm  900 m/s
NS-45  45mm x 182mm (1065 g) 250 rpm  850 m/s

Both guns fire shells with almost the same muzzle velocity of a Hispano 20mm, but with shells that are 6-8 times larger.  True, rate of fire is slow, but it only takes one of these babies.

Also in comparison, the US M4 37mm cannon (in the P-39 Aircobra) has half the rate of fire, only 60% of the velocity, and the American shell is only 60-80% as large.

M4  37mm x 145R (608 g) 140 rpm  610 m/s

Some truely scary firepower!
