Wow, that sucks.  Bernie was a really funny comedian, his show "The Bernie Mac Show" was hilarious, great sitcom.  It's a sad day in the histoy of comedy.

iirc he had an autoimmune disease, and this last week he was hospitalized with pneumonia.

I watched the Bernie Mac Show for almost a year everyday, and still laughted/chuckled even knowing the episodes. Sad news. Still waiting for the series on DVD, I guess it's just a question of time now.
